What you should know about the collision repair process

Initial Estimate of Damage

When your vehicle arrives, we'll inspect it for visual damage and create an estimate. This estimate is for planning purposes only since there may be hidden damage, below the surface, that will require supplemental repair and parts. At Cavallino, we won't overlook any damages related to your loss. In addition, we'll guarantee to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition.

What you should know about the collision repair process

Modern vehicles are technological wonders, with the majority of vehicles designed for maximum safety and fuel efficiency. But, the advanced technology has made today's vehicles a repair challenge as well, usually requiring complex procedures, sophisticated equipment and craftsmen who know how to bring damaged vehicles back to factory specifications.
Although each vehicle repair is unique, there are common steps in the process. Following is an overview of what you and your vehicle will experience at Cavallino.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use factory parts?

We prefer to use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts to help ensure a quick, quality repair. With OEM parts, we know what to expect in terms of fit and finish. Non-OEM parts tend to vary in quality and often lead to delays as they fail to meet our quality control standards. Yet, the fact is, vehicle manufacturers don't create every part for their products. Many parts are farmed out, for example, radiators and taillights. So the typical modern vehicle starts out with a combination of OEM and sub-contracted (technically non-OEM) parts. Our goal is to use only the highest quality parts—OEM or not—that allow us to return a vehicle to its pre-accident condition of safety and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the repair take?

The length of time depends on a variety of factors, including the extent of damage, availability of parts and responsiveness of the insurance company (companies) and vehicle owner. Typically, a repair with no special requirements or issues will take between three and seven days after we've received insurance company/owner approval to proceed and the parts.
